This might be a silly question, but I still wanna know:

In a few weeks I'm going camping in North Italy for 2 weeks, with a tent. And because I'm scared of spiders, I want to know what kind of them I could find in my tent.. Big/small, dangerous/not dangerous etc. It's at the Garda-lake.

Thank you for answering and sorry for my crappy english!

No, no spiders at all. No strange animals. You have to worry about mosquitos. The North plain of Italy is particularly rich of these animals, due to its plenty of rivers and lakes and its climate (highly humid during summers).

So make sure you have a protection against mosquitos, particularly at night.

Nearly any spider that is native might be apt to enter a tent

while camping. although cobweb and orb-weavers could,

few wander, so these would not be too likely.

Active hunting spiders, such as wolf spiders, fishing spiders, and

ground spiders (Gnaphosids) may be prone to crawl in, looking

for food. male spiders of other species may also wander in search

of mates, and enter.

the only spider you need be concerned with, would be the

Latrodectus genus (widow spiders) and these are not prone to wander

into a tent, unless it has been up for a while.

You really need not worry about spiders, you likely may not

see any at all. Just enjoy your outing.

Another problem is small snakes/vipers. These can crawl in your tent and are not a nice thing to find. Best thing to do is seal your tent when you're away and shake your sleeping area down before you sleep.
