If you have what are the pros and cons of it? I know that they provide tours for a cheap price. This is be my first time in Europe and I hope not my last, so I want to make sure I get more for my money.

I have not used Kontiki http://www.kontiki.org but...

I went to Paris for Easter in April 2005 with another company that was very good - Ubiquity International. They are not 'cheap' but they provide a very good value and the prices are comparable to other tour groups. They have small groups and provide "expert" guide with MA or PhD to add value to trip.

They have trips to Italy (Rome, Florence, Pisa, Pompeii), Greece (Thesoloniki and Mt. Olympus), Spain (Madrid - my favorite European city, Toledo, and Seville), Ireland, and Peru (Machu Picchu, Lima, Cuzco, etc.)

I have been to Europe 10 times and I am thinking of doing another tour with UI this summer.

I havent used Contiki before but i have been to Italy with Perillo tours and it was the best trip I have ever had. It seems when you go on a more "budget" group you end up paying more. With Perillo EVERY thing was included. All meals were wonderful - they would even hook you up with locals if so desired and went home with them for the day so see their homes, how they live etc.... It was great . (and I dont even work for them LOL)
